Rubelli Fabric Materials:

For more than one hundred years the collection expanded considerably with the addition of important textile documentation and includes today not only European fabrics but also specimens from the East, Africa and the Americas. The collection carefully conserves examples from original and historic Rubelli production, including the velvet made for the royal family in the early twentieth century and a number of fabrics produced through a creative partnership with famous artists, architects and designers such as Vittorio Zecchin, Bruno Cadorin, Gi Ponti and Alfredo Carnelutti.

The fabrics in the Rubelli archive represent in fact a matchless source of creative ideas for the new collections, also offering an excellent starting point for the creation of exclusive fabrics according to specific customer requirements. The function of the archive as an essential aid is also seen in the preliminary research that precedes reconstruction of specimens of ancient textiles that once belonged to historical residences, embassies, museums and cultural institutions in all corners of the world. Some of its celebrated collections include: The Rubelli Venezia which brings together age-old Venetian know-how and the passion of five generations. The ancient textile tradition has produced a rich and varied collection which can be adapted to both contemporary and classic interiors and whose high-quality materials (silk, cotton, linen and wool) are manufactured with skill, combining ancient and craft techniques with cutting-edge technology to produce luxury lampas, liser, laminates, crepe textures, raised prints, etc. Then there are the technical fabrics for those who seek to combine a high aesthetic value with high performances: superior resistance to wear, easy care and fast colours (flame retardant fabrics and those for outdoor use). The other collections also follow this line: Lisio Design, inspired by the golden age of silk and the splendour of the art of textiles: opulent brocade with golden threads woven into the silk, faithful reproductions of historical fabrics. Bises Design, fabrics as works of art with a Mediterranean spirit, patterns with a strong personality and bold and often flamboyant use of colour. These are the various personalities of Rubelli: a vast range of fabrics intended to add appeal and comfort to historical homes, contemporary interiors, museums, theatres, yachts, hotels or cruise ships.
